     Everyone has limitations.  Some people focus on them, and others focus on their strengths.  Which are you?

      Bruce Lee was severely nearsighted.  He chose his first martial art because it allowed him to fight an arm's length away.

     Maybe you are completely blind.  If you have arms and legs, then you can learn to protect yourself.

In a previous blog I mentioned that the ability to turn the emotional intensity up or down is sometimes called "killer instinct".  I offered some thoughts on why that skill is important.  I also mentioned a simple way to train to "turn it down".

Today I will offer a way to train to turn it up.  You can do it with no equipment at all.

One of the fundamental concepts of Personal Defense is using one's strengths against an attacker's weaknesses.  When I was in high school, I had a friend named Lam.  Lam was from Vietnam, but his paternal grandparents were from Hong Kong, and he lived with them for a number of years while trying to secure passage to America.  Lam's grandfather taught him kung-fu, just as every chop-sockey movie ever made would lead you to expect.
