Emotions can run amok in a stressful situation.  Those can be useful if you have practiced using them.

Many people think only of anger as a useful emotion in a violent encounter.  The truth is that anger, fear, hope, and love are all useful and should be there.

You should love the life you are striving to defend.  You should fear its loss and be angry that it is threatened.  Maybe you are protecting someone else - you are fighting for their life, their future, and their future generations.

Angry people often get into fights, but anger is not a reason to fight.  You fight to protect the irreplaceable - the precious.

Precious things deserve to be protected for righteous reasons.  Channel ALL your emotions into your actions and see how much more effective those actions are.
